LEOPARD INCIDENT

A three-year-old male leopard was found trapped in a cage kept by the Forest Department at Kalenahalli, near Kikkeri in K.R. Pet taluk, in the district on Monday morning. The leopard had triggered panic in the vicinity of Kalenahalli by killing several sheep and stray dogs. Responding to the complaints, the department had placed a cage in the farmland of Suryanarayan at the village recently. The leopard was found trapped in the cage in the early hours of Monday, Forest department sources said. Its health is good and there are no injury marks on its body.
